Dave Martula Class of 1962 - Garry Brown, sports writer for the
Springfield Union, announced that Dave Martula, Class of 1962,
was the last .400 hitter at Hopkins, hitting .476. That
year Dick Czerwincki (also Class of 62) hit .425. Brown
said, "You're getting old if you saw Dave Martula hit .400 at
Hopkins Academy."
